Do I have class if it’s a bank holiday?

Classes are not taught on bank holidays. They can be made up by adding one or more additional days to your stay.

Are there any activities to do during our stay in Bordeaux?

Of course! Each week we offer cultural outings to learn more about the Bordeaux region. Don’t hesitate to ask us for more information.

What are the school opening hours and dates?

The school is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closes only for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

What are the transfer options from the airport or the train station?

If you are staying with a host family, the transfer is provided by the host family. All arrival information is provided a few days before your departure. For other accommodation, transfers are on request. The city of Bordeaux is also well served by trams and buses from the train station and the airport.

How do arrivals and departures take place in accommodation?

When staying with a host family, arrivals are on Sunday and departures are on Saturday. For other types of accommodation, arrivals and departures may vary. More information -> Accommodation

How many students are there in a class?

The number of students varies from 3 to 15 students maximum.

Do you have lessons for all levels?

We provide courses from levels  A1 to B2 / C1.

What time should I come on the first day?

We organise a meeting at 8:45 a.m. every Monday morning for new arrivals. An email will be sent to you a few days before your arrival to notify you of the welcome meeting.

What is there to do in Bordeaux?

Bordeaux is brimming with fun events. You can find all our activities online on our blog, written by our students!

Where are the host families?

The families are located in Bordeaux and the metropolitan area.

Can I change classes if I feel the level is too difficult or too easy?

When you start your lessons, we assign you a level which can, of course, be changed according to your progress.

How can I know my level of French?

We carry out a test before and on the day of your arrival so that we can offer you a programme that is adapted to your level. You can also find a test on our homepage

Do I need to buy/bring any textbooks to class?

No. We provide you with all the necessary course materials, every documents and books, that you need for the classes

Where is Newdeal Institut ?

Our adress is 74 Avenue Thiers in Bordeaux. You can find us in front of the Tram A station called ‘Jardin Botanique’

Do you have any wifi network ?

Yes! We offer free Wifi to our students.

Which exam should I be training towards?

It depends on what you want to take the exam for.
The DELF/DALF are diplomas that validate the language skills of a French as a foreign language individual and are valid for life. It is needed for those who wish to get a job in a French speaking country, enroll in a French university, and it can also be used to justify your language level when applying for French nationality.
The TCF and TEF is a certificate that verifies the language skills of a French as a foreign language individual and is valid for 2 years. It is needed for a request for French nationality, a request for a long-term resident card and a validation of level A1 as part of the Ofii citizen course. The main difference between the TCf and TEF is the actual exam.

Do I need a visa to study here?

It depends, if you are a non EU student and you intend to stay longer than 90 days then a  student Visa will be required. If you are an EU student then you are not required to obtain a visa.

Do I get a refund if I don’t get my visa?

You will be refunded minus the registration fees.

When do you accept students?

Are there specific intake dates for students? Can I come any time of year?

It depends on the course if we have specific start dates. Most of our courses start every Monday, however, for our long term course the classes start at the beginning of each trimester.

Accessibility of our school

The ground floor of our establishment is accessible from the street and can accommodate people with reduced mobility. On this level, 3 class or examination rooms, our offices, our refectory, our relaxation area, our resource center and sanitary facilities are fully accessible.

You can pay by bank transfer, check, card and cash.
