OUR FRENCH SCHOOL'S PEDAGOGY
The objective of our French school is the quick progression of our students. For this, we use recognised and adapted methods in our French courses.
FRENCH CLASSES BY LEVEL
There are 5 groups classes available based on CEFR levels. From beginner to advanced levels, our French classes are homogeneous for optimal progression.
Before arriving in Bordeaux the student undergoes a written evaluation; an oral interview on the day of arrival confirms their level and allows group assignment.
We organise group changes in agreement with the teaching team if the level does not correspond to the expectations of the student.
OUR FRENCH COURSES
Our French language courses are organised in restricted classes – between 8 and 10 students with a maximum of 12 participants for the à la carte courses. This is an important condition which allows students to participate actively. The atmosphere within the French classes is friendly, encouraging active exchange. Small groups provide individual, attentive monitring to each student.
THE CONTENT OF OUR FRENCH COURSES
Our French-language teachers use a variety of activities to motivate and encourage the class. The 4 skills (writing, reading, listening and speaking) are worked on in each French foreign language course. We use role-playing and situational games, as well as authentic written, audio or video materials. Alternating the work of different skills as well as the use of various media makes for a dynamic and stimulating learning environment. OurFrench teachers also favour the enojoyable pedagogical approach that drives learning.
Our method of teaching French has been recognised by the Teaching French as a Foreign Laguage Quality Certification. Our teachers use a pragmatic and effective action-based approach that aims to develop students’scommunication skills. We put theFrench language in its context of use to meet the concrete needs of students. Writing, grammar and phonetics are also an integral part of our training.
OUR FRENCH SCHOOL’S MATERIALS
Our school is equipped with the necessary materials and facilities to set up various activities: video, audio files, computer work.
Our programmes are organised by levels in accordance with the recommendations of the CECRL. Respect for the CEFR frame-work and syllabus allows for consistency that ensures constant progression. Our teachers use school-specific materials and textbooks selected by theteaching team.
Teachers are given the opportunity to adapt their course materials according to their class (creation of dedicated materials, taking into account specific requests) which allows to provide teaching solutions in line with the interests, profiles and needs of the students.
INDIVIDUAL MONOTORING
Our French school allows you to enjoy specific support and tutoring. The head-teacher is available to students who require advice or extra support for their learning. Teachers can offer an appropriate independent programme for students with specific needs or difficulties.
We set up weekly assessments (on Fridays) to ensure that the week’s classes are well understood and assimilated. It is an opportunity to see the progress made or, on the contrary, to identify difficulties and work on them independently.
At the end of the stay, a certificate indicating the level and the number of hours of lessons is given to the student.
