Bordeaux, one of UNESCO’s World Heritage city
Welcome to bordeaux
Bordeaux is the sixth largest city in France, boasting a population of almost 800,000 people. Its world-renowned university accommodates almost 70,000 students and about 7,500 international students, making it a very dynamic city, bustling with life and energy.
Ideally located on the southwest coast of France, Bordeaux is only 2 hours away from Paris by train, less than 1 hour away from the beaches and about 2 hours away from Spain. Our students regularly explore what the Bordeaux region has to offer.
With its rich history and over 300 historical landmarks, the city is second only to Paris in terms of cultural heritage with some buildings dating back to Roman times. Since 2008 Bordeaux is also featured on the UNESCO World Heritage List as “an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble”.
After being elected “European best destination 2015” or reaching top 2 on the cities you can’t miss out on the New York Times 2016 ranking, Bordeaux shows its worldwide appeal and is now one of the most popular destination for tourists. In 2017, the Lonely Planet confirmed its status by awarding Bordeaux their top spot on their “Best of 2017” list.
The city’s beautiful parks, sports facilities, museums, theatres and clubs provide countless opportunities to enjoy your time in Bordeaux and experience life “à la française”.
