AN OFFICIAL TEST OF FRENCH KNOWLEDGE
Newdeal Institut de Français is an official test centre for the TCF exams.
This language-level test, from the French Ministries of National Education, Higher Education and Research, evaluates the writing and oral level of candidates’ French skills.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CONCERNING THE FRENCH TCF EXAMS
If you register for a TCF exam, once your registration has been validated and paid for, Newdeal Institut commits to providing you with a certificate of registration for this French exam as proof of your application.
Once the French Test has been corrected, France Education International will issue you an official certificate of results. Please note that it takes approximately one month to obtain the results of the tests because they are subject to double marking by France Éducation International in Paris. This certificate of results is valid for 2 years.
In the event of a failed French TCF test, it is possible to retake the exam under the condition that there is a minimum delay of 30 days between attempts.

The TCF TOUT PUBLIC
This official test of French knowledge is essential to initiate or pursue higher education in France, it equally addresses all those who wish to find out their level of French for both personal and professional reasons.
The score obtained from the TCF TOUT PUBLIC (French knowledge test) reliably determines the candidate’s understanding of the French language on the 6 levels of the European Framework CEFR.
THE SECTIONS OF THE TCF TOUT PUBLIC
The TCF Tout Public computer-based test takes the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire comprising 91 questions.
The questions focus on French written comprehension, the structures of the French language and oral comprehension.
- Oral comprehension : Collective section : 34 questions – 25 minutes
- Understanding of language structures : Collective section : 23 questions – 15 minutes
- Written comprehension : Collective section : 34 questions – 45 minutes
There are also two complementary optional tests :
- Writing : Collective section: 3 exercises – 60 minutes
- Oral expression : An individual face-to-face test with an examiner : 3 exercices – 12 minutes

THE TCF QUÉBEC
The French knowledge test for Québec (TCF Québec), is a French level Language test that meets the standards of the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI) under the constitution for an immigration application for Québec.
People who wish to file an immigration application in a Quebec immigration office or in a general delegation of Quebec can justify their level of French by including a TCF for Quebec certificate in their dossier.

The TCF for Québec can be comprised of 1 to 4 parts.
It assesses French general language skills in oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression and written expression.
The exam is formed from 4 modular tests which can be chosen by candidates.
- Oral comprehension : Collective section : 39 questions – 35 minutes
- Written comprehension : Collective section : 39 questions – 60 minutes
- Writing : Collective section: 3 exercises – 60 minutes
- Oral expression : Individual face-to-face test with an examiner: 3 exercises – 12 minutes.

THE TCF CANADA
The French Knowledge Test for Canada, TCF Canada, is a French language level test that meets the standards of Immigration, Refugees and Canadian Citizenship (IRCC) in the event of economic immigration or application for Canadian citizenship.
Individuals concerned by these procedures can justify their French level by including a TCF Canada certificate in their application.
THE TCF CANADA SECTIONS
The TCF Canada is comprised of 4 different sections.
It assesses French general language skills in oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression and written expression.
The exam includes 4 compulsory tests.
